MANO A MANO
MANO A MANO
An exploration of gestural communication in creative practices
It all begins from something, and we’ve found it often starts from our hands - a gesture, an offering, a touch. Mano a Mano is an ode to the ability to communicate through gestures, using our hands to both physically and metaphorically grasp onto the world.
This monthly interview series aims to unfold the narrative of gestural communication, engaging with makers who practice it regularly within their respective creative pursuits. While aware that we have hands to hold and be held, to eat with, and to draw with, we recognize how the hands also defy their very own physicality, allowing us to communicate through thinking, playing, and inspiring.
Mano a Mano invites a slow reflection on various creative processes done with time and care, little by little, hand by hand. Discover artists, artisans, and makers celebrating their everyday gestures as acts of care to be shared communally.
